The Texas Trappers and Fur Hunters Association will be hosting its spring rendezvous

The Texas Trappers and Fur Hunters Association will be hosting its spring rendezvous on April 8&9 in Fort Stockton at the Civic Center, located at 1674 Airport Drive, just off of Highway 285 on the northeast side of town. Trappers, callers, landowners and anyone else interested in predator control are welcome to attend. A fine selection of experts will be sharing with the public their knowledge in trapping, calling, snaring and M-44’s of predators including coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions and feral hogs. Pesticide applicators will be able to earn CEU’s in general, IPM and laws and regulations categories. Demonstrations begin at 11:00 am on Friday the 8th. This is a family event with youth activities, ladies crafts and the public is invited. An actual trapline will be set up on Friday, then checked and pulled at 7:30 am. Saturday morning. Contests, gun drawing and a fundraising auction will round out the activities on Saturday. Supplies and crafts will be offered by individuals; dealers are welcome. Individuals may bring their surplus traps, equipment or crafts to sell or trade. There will be no admission fee or no table charge for dealers or individuals. Plenty of table space will be available in the building and it will be secured at night. Meals will be available Friday and Saturday evenings as well as noon on Saturday. No live animals will be allowed in the building and no food vending or alcohol will be allowed on the premises. Bobcat tags will be available for individuals presenting their current hunting license.
