TONY CASALE
Tony Casale, CEO of American Opinion Research, an international research firm specializing in newspaper research based in Princeton, N.J., is a veteran journalist who worked on the planning and startup team of USA TODAY and served as its first national editor. He was named director of research for USA TODAY in 1986 and director of research for Gannett Co. Inc. in 1990. Casale is a two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee and a winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation award for excellence in print journalism.
BOB ROSE
Bob Rose is the chief meteorologist for the Lower Colorado River Authority. He produces a daily forecast and blog about Central Texas weather for LCRA and the Austin-American Statesman. Rose has also worked for KVUE-TV (ABC) in Austin and KBTX-TV (ABC/CBS) in Bryan. He makes regular contributions to the National Drought Monitor, is a member of the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program, and serves as the Travis and Williamson County Coordinator for CoCoRaHS. |

MONICA DIAS
Monica Dias is a litigation attorney and intellectual property attorney at Frost Brown Todd LLC. Her practice focuses on first amendment and media law issues, including defamation, invasion of privacy, access to courts, open records and open meetings issues, pre-publication and pre-broadcast review of news stories, and confidential sources. Dias is a former reporter for The Kentucky Post/The Cincinnati Post and a former legal fellow for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in Arlington, Va.
GRIFF SINGER
Veteran journalist and journalism instructor Griff Singer retired from the University of Texas at Austin School of Journalism in 2003 after 34 years of service. He continues to work with the department as a consultant and as the director of the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund Center for Editing Excellence. He also participates in seminars and workshops conducted by state, regional and national journalistic organizations, including APME, TXAPME, SPJ and TPA. |

JUDY MULLER
Award-winning broadcast journalist Judy Muller is an associate professor at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Muller was a longtime correspondent for ABC Network News and CBS News. She has received numerous journalism honors, including a Peabody Award, a Columbia DuPont, an Edward R. Murrow Award, an Emmy and two Golden Mics. Her latest book, “Emus Loose in Egnar: Big Stories from Small Towns,” was published in July 2011.
RUSSELL VIERS
Worldwide speaker/trainer Russell Viers is an Adobe Certified Instructor in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Since 1997 he has helped newspapers adapt to changes in the industry. His methods for modern PDF creation, editing and output have streamlined production for many in the industry. He helps publishers automate workflows, save time and cut overhead. In 2010 Viers created Atomic News Tools, software that allows publishers to take content from InDesign to the Web in seconds. |
