Carol Renee' Bond Theiss -30-

Former Sweetwater Reporter publisher, Carol Renee' Bond Theiss of Russell, died Dec. 10, 2015, at the age of 44.

She was born Dec. 20, 1970, to Hank and Marilyn Bond of Russell. She earned three degrees from Morehead State University, a BA in Mass Communications, a Master's Degree, and a second Master's Degree in education. She began a newspaper career at age 13 in Georgetown, Ky. 

Following college graduation, she became the youngest publisher in company history with Park Newspapers. She published the Sweetwater Reporter and she also worked at the Louisville Courier-Journal. 

Following a career in media of nearly 25 years she entered the world of education as an English and Journalism instructor.
