Nov. 6 Constitutional Amendment Resources

Texas voters head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 6 to consider 16 proposed constitutional amendments.

According to the House Research Organization Texas voters have approved 440 amendments to the state Constitution since its adoption in 1876. Sixteen more proposed amendments will be submitted for voter approval at the general election on Nov. 6.

Here are resources to help newspapers inform voters about the amendments:

Secretary of State

League of Women Voters

The LWV of Texas again this year has published a Voter's Guide with information on the amendments. Newspapers can order and purchase copies of the guide or order or electronic file to print and distribute; deadline for orders is Sept. 17.
